22OMGD Discovery of Turkish Wines & Mezze
We offer you the unique opportunity to discover a range of fine boutique wines from Turkey. Ten years ago, Gurbuz Salman started to a small vineyard in Turkey. Working with professional winemakers, he now imports not only his own, but also other fine boutique wines from Turkey, mostly from the western part of the country. Most of the wines are made from indigenous grapes, which will offer new flavors and aromas, many people are unfamiliar with. We will look at different styles and ranges, including white, rose, red and sweet wines and will discuss the aspects of wines and winemaking given Turkish climate, soil and geography.
The wines will be tasted and presented with a variety of mezze, which are small, flavorful dishes are often served as appetizers or a light meal. Also, a warm main dish will be served (choice of vegetarian, fish or meat) plus a dessert. All is set at the traditional Turkish restaurant Levant in the center of Amsterdam.
Hence, this unique tasting will be a great opportunity to discover the great food and wine opportunities modern-day Turkey offers.
